Gain = sale β purchase β fees; taxable amount = max(0, gain β deduction); tax = taxable amount Γ 22%. Example: purchase 10,000, sale 15,000, fees 50, deduction 0 β gain 4,950, assumed tax 1,089, net profit 3,861. A loss gives zero estimated tax, not an automatic refund.
Actual deductions, loss offsets, residence rules, holding periods and rates require local official guidance. For the Korean-resident foreign-share example and National Tax Service sources, see the Korean page.
